BGene opens InSili4Bio to partnerships: the digital platform that accelerates your bioproduction projects
BGene opens InSili4Bio to partnerships: the digital platform that accelerates your bioproduction projects BGene Genetics announces the opening to partnerships and services of InSili4Bio, its suite of proprietary bioinformatics tools dedicated to rational design in biocatalysis and bioproduction.
Developed in-house over the course of our R&D projects, InSili4Bio brings together modules covering all design processes: identification of metabolic pathways, enzymatic and metabolic engineering, rational choice of production chassis and enzymes, and optimization of strains. The platform addresses concrete technical barriers: low catalytic efficiency limiting scale-up, generation of undesirable co-products, insufficient solubility in aqueous media, while combining in silico modeling and experimental validation in the laboratory.
InSili4Bio has already proven itself in real condition. On a family of enzymes known for their low activity, the in silico identification of a targeted mutation has made it possible to multiply the enzymatic activity by 10 and to achieve some of the highest bioproduction titers on the market. An in silico exploration of the enzymatic diversity led to the identification of an enzyme that is 100% substrate specific. This discovery significantly improved the efficiency of the reaction while preventing the formation of co-products.
This « drylab » know-how, coupled with our « wetlab » expertise, has fueled the filing of 11 patent families, which are now available under license.
To participate in a more sustainable and fossil fuel-independent industry, we now make InSili4Bio and our teams available to companies that wish to accelerate their projects in cosmetics, flavors & fragrances, nutraceuticals or green chemistry both in terms of service provision and co-development.
